Located in North Tonawanda. Price is $10.75. Served Fridays during Lent, reservations are not needed.
Large hall with fish frys served during Lent only. Place is large enough that reservations aren't necessary, and service was very quick. All workers are volunteers. Fry could of been a lot better had it not been slightly oily... might not of been drained long enough, or even at all. It wasn't crowded on the plate though, so that helped keep the batter crisp. All drinks are served at the bar. They also serve homemade desserts for $2.
Fish: Nice piece of fried fish, batter had excellent flavor and
couldn't of been crispier. However,
the fish was under-seasoned, was excessively flaky, and was a bit oily.
Tartar: Prepackaged
Kraft.
Slaw: Very good,
clearly fresh. Not too creamy, the
mayo was balanced perfectly from the tang of the vinegar.
Sides: French fries
were standard crinkle cut, but cooked well.
The chef salad was prepackaged salad mix with a tomato, and served
with either ranch or italian. The
macaroni salad was fresh, not overly creamy, seasoned well and plenty of
crunch from the celery and onions.
